Bridgnorth is a thriving Market Town with a proud history, a thriving retail offer of independents, fine eateries and possibly ‘the finest view in all my kingdom” as declared by Charles 1.
It straddles the River Severn with a ‘High Town’ and a ‘Low Town’ connected by a funicular railway and is well known with steam enthusiasts as the home of the Severn Valley Railway.
Market days are Saturdays, with a small market under the historic Town Hall on a Friday and a craft/makers market on the first Sunday of the month.
In 2016 Bridgnorth won the national prize – ‘Best Large Market Town’ in the Great British High Street Awards.
