Cumnock is a historic market town whose residents have made a big impact on the world. James Keir Hardie the father of the Labour Party lived a large part of his life in Cumnock, and William Wallace and Robert Burns both spent a lot of time in the town. There are a number of independent shops in Cumnock offering everything from homeware to gifts, clothes, hardware and florists and visiting Cumnock is always worthwhile.
