It’s all about food and drink in Enfield and the Borough is packed with local produce. A must visit on our gastro tour is Enfield town centre’s very own Village Wholefood Store. Jill who runs the store which is set in one of Enfield’s treasured Conservation Areas prides herself on running a Health and Whole Food store as well as a Village Shop. She says “You can rest assured that with us “each and every customer matters!” We try to serve our customers by providing what everyone wants from a corner shop as well as offering the chance for our customers to do their bit for their own health, animal welfare, the planet’s sustainable development, justice and equity by offering organic, fair trade, environmentally friendly and special dietary products; from organic/free range eggs to bio-degradable bin bags.” Another key reason if the ethics and quality isn’t enough is that the staff are often told they are cheaper than other health stores and supermarkets. So great value, quality and most importantly a friendly face. Do pop in and say hello! For more health, see also Eat, Live, Wellness where you can get specially created hampers of food to suit your health needs.
For fresh produce we would suggest Belle’s Fruit – our favourite is the Little Red Riding Hood Basket. For a wider variety and more international flavours, try Food Art Direct established as an ethnic food & drinks business – the selection is vast. Have a peek! And as it rhymes try Oh My Greek! –very much OMG when you can get a taste of Greece with one click and a simple home delivery in Enfield. Yum (νόστιμο)
Of course with any good meals, the drinks to accompany the dishes are crucial. Vineyards Direct offers a pretty impressive range of wine selections and you can also visit Forty Hall’s social enterprise with a local vineyard producing wine right here.
For artists and makers – Stitch! Is a must visit. This community enterprise makes it so easy to start or grow that new hobby. With kits and classes, you can join a vibrant community of makers and creators so easily. If you are more interested in artistic creations themselves – then have a look at Artist Hive Studios – a space created and curated by local artists – there is quite a selection of art to admire online, and we suspect far more behind the scenes. Give them a visit. And if all this is making you question your own home interior – can we recommend a spot of browsing here at the popular Interior Design House. With more time indoors, it’s good to be in nice surroundings!
There’s loads more in Enfield, to browse, book and buy. #WhereYouShopMatters and now it’s even easier to shop closer to home.
