Allison Wiffen Ceramics
I make lots of things out of clay, though principally pots, jewellery and wall art. I trained at Camberwell College of Art and I have been working as a designer and maker of ceramics now for 20 years. I moved from Deptford in South East London to Gargrave on the southern edge of the Yorkshire Dales five years ago. Inspired by the countryside and particularly my garden, the pieces I make are now vibrantly colourful. All of the work is handmade by me in the studio/barn attached to my house in Gargrave, Pots are mainly thrown on the potter's wheel and then hand painted. Perhaps when things have gone back to normal you will have a chance to visit my studio, in the meantime here are pictures of some of my work.
Allison Wiffen Ceramics is taking part in the Virtual Makers Fair at Saltaire Arts Trail 2020 until Sunday 7th June only. To discover more exhibitors, look out for the red logo.
