Vixendale Gifts
Vixendale Gifts I set up Vixendale Gifts following years working in retail, largely within the gift departments of garden centres, where I could combine my love of plants & the outdoors. I had become fed up of selling goods largely from 2 or 3 companies which arrived by the pallet-load from far-flung countries. If you have a shop in Britain, why not support & sell items made in this country? You only have to look around at craft fairs and independent shops to see there is a wealth of talented designers & creators, who have a real love & passion for what they do. This is what I want to support & bring to a wider audience. By purchasing from small companies I am helping both them & the UK economy in general. It also means that the items I stock at Vixendale Gifts are not widely found elsewhere, so you will always discover something unusual in my online store.

By creating Vixendale Gifts I can also combine my love of animals and the beauty of the countryside, whilst supporting small UK businesses and providing a high level of customer service. I love to hear from potential and existing customers about items they are struggling to find, as well as receiving feedback on the gifts I stock. I am constantly searching online & amongst the gift market to find new gifts to sell.

Vixendale Gifts started its journey in Wrens of Ripon – a wonderful emporium full of independent local businesses. I was there for 2 years and in March 2017 decided to take the next step & open my own ‘proper’ shop in my own premises. Thirsk is a very friendly vibrant town full of independent shops. It also attracts many animal lovers with the Herriott museum, racecourse & auction mart, plus the Yorkshire Moors & other beautiful countryside on its doorstep. It is also the home of the very popular, award-winning The Yorkshire Vet tv programme. It felt like the ideal place to relocate to and I have settled in well. In August 2020 I closed my Thirsk store & am now selling entirely online
