A proud Black Country town, Walsall has a long tradition of manufacturing. The town was famous for its locks and was a centre for the leather trade and still produces a wide range of quality leatherwear from fine saddles to handbags for the Queen.

The borough has bustling markets, independent traders and a world-class art gallery along with a host of beautiful green spaces including the tree-lined, Arboretum.

Walsall has more than its fair share of the canal network in the West Midlands and the canal tow paths help to create an extensive network of safe cycle and walking routes.
