Inkhaus Tattoo and Piercing

Nestled upstairs in a 17th century grade II listed building, we like to think of Inkhaus as being one of Yarm’s hidden gems. With low ceilings and twisted oak beams, the studio itself is fitting with Yarm’s traditional character, but with a modern twist and plenty of our own personalities thrown into the décor.

Alexandra and Becky opened Inkhaus in September 2012 with the aim of providing an intimate, boutique style environment for clients to get tattooed and pierced. One of our aims from the beginning has been to provide an exclusive service that is tailored personally to each client. This is why we run as a fully custom studio for tattooing. For piercings, we have a huge range of premium body jewellery with everything from 18 karat gold to opals and genuine Swarovski gems. Our Statim autoclave allows for jewellery to be sterilised in the time it takes you to fill in your consent form, so there is always an opportunity to choose something that perfectly matches your style. Privacy is another priority here at Inkhaus and we have separate treatment rooms for tattooing and piercing so you know that you will be able to have your procedure in peace. With only two tattooists (Alexandra and Jen) and one piercer (Becky), we are a small studio, but we feel that this adds to the personal and intimate experience of having a tattoo or piercing at Inkhaus.

Prior to tattooing, Alexandra studied at art college, and this experience has helped her to cover a wide range of styles in her tattooing. As you will see when you browse her work, Alexandra undoubtedly has her own tattooing style, but she is able to cover a wide range of other styles as well and enjoys the wide variety of work that she produces. She loves working alongside a client to help change their concept into a beautiful piece of wearable art, and is always happy to take the time to chat about your ideas prior to making a booking.

Becky, our body piercer, is particularly passionate about premium, beautiful and safe body jewellery, which is why Inkhaus boasts a huge range of jewellery suitable to be worn in a fresh piercing. Many of these jewellery brands are imported from the USA and Becky spends a lot of time and dedication seeking out beautiful pieces for our clients to fall in love with. Becky is also our studio manager and will often be the person to greet tattoo clients and get them booked in during times when Alexandra is busy tattooing.

Our newest member of the team, Jen, is our junior tattooist having recently finished her apprenticeship elsewhere. She is currently exploring a range of tattoo styles as she builds her portfolio and client base.
