Welcome to

Penarth’s Victorian and Edwardian founders created an elegant resort with fine public buildings and ornate houses. Its restored Art Deco pier, complete with art gallery, café and cinema is a popular spot for a stroll, offering great views of the coastline. The Esplanade is very popular with locals and visitors alike and is home to restaurants and cafés. The seafront is linked to the town centre by splendid parks. The tree-lined town centre, with its fashionable, quirky shops also boasts its very own arcade and is bustling with coffee shops, restaurants and independent shops. It offers a great shopping experience with something to suit every taste. During the current crisis, with many of the town’s loved shops and businesses unable to give the usual warm welcome to their customers, you can now browse and buy from your favourite traders online. Now is the time to shop local, support local, and ensure the vibrant town centre you know and love will be there again in the future. Penarth’s independent traders are working with the Vale of Glamorgan Council to proudly bring the concept to Penarth. Photos credit: Phil Lewis
